Helping your teen prepare for post-secondary education

So your teen has made the decision to pursue post-secondary education. Congratulations! You and your teenage child are about to enter an exciting and deeply enriching chapter in your lives, one that will expose both of you to different perspectives, challenge the way you see the world, make you ask some really tough questions (you know ... the ones that don’t really have a “right” answer) and basically help you unlock the mystery of who your teen really is and who they want to become.

When it comes to post-secondary education, there are so many factors to think about. From making sure your teen gets good grades and choosing which universities or colleges to apply to, to calculating the cost of higher education and where that money is going to come from. As a CST plan holder, you’ve already made the right choice to plan financially for your teenager’s future by putting money aside through an RESP.

The good news is that there is a wealth of information available to parents and future students to help make the transition from high school to post-secondary education a lot easier. Here are some great resources on post-secondary education to get you and your teenage child heading in the right direction—the direction of higher learning!
