Sherry MacDonald, President
Sherry MacDonald was appointed President and CEO of the Canadian Scholarship Trust Foundation and the subsidiary, C.S.T. Consultants Inc. in March 2010. With a keen interest in strategy and business transformation, Sherry leads a team dedicated to achieving the Foundation’s mission of advocating, developing and delivering solutions to enable Canadian families to have the financial resources to pursue post-secondary education. The organization is implementing a 3 year strategy with a focus on the customer experience supported by effective distribution and market share growth. In addition, through the Learning Matters Education Charity a partnership program has recently been launched to work with non-profit and charitable partners to promote the registration of eligible families to receive the Government of Canada Learning Bond.
Under Sherry’s leadership C.S.T. Consultants Inc. has been named to the Globe and Mail’s Top 50 Best Small and Mid-Sized Employers in Canada in 2013 as well as the Top 50 Best Employers in the Greater Toronto Area for the past three years.
Prior to joining CST, in 2003 as VP Risk Management and CFO, Sherry spent 18 years in investment management and the pension industry as Senior Vice-President Finance and CFO roles. Her responsibilities included financial management, investment operations and technology development. She also helped build regulatory and compliance processes to establish corporate governance standards.
Sherry is a graduate of York University where she received an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration in 1978. She has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1981.
