Bob Ezrin’s legendary career as a music and entertainment producer, songwriter, arranger and mixer has spanned over 40 years. He is a co-founder with Garth Richardson and Kevin Williams of Nimbus School of Recording & Media in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Bob was named an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Conservatory of Music in 2013. In 2013, he was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame, the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in April, 2004, and into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in March, 2006.

He is Chairman Emeritus of the Los Angeles Mentoring Partnership, Vice President of The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, a director of The Nashville Symphony, a member of the MusiCounts Advisory Committee, and a co-founder of Music Rising, an initiative to replace the musical instruments that were destroyed or lost in the gulf coast region due to the hurricanes and flooding of 2005. He is also a past Trustee and Governor of NARAS.

Bob first became associated with MusiCounts as a founding member of the Advisory Committee. In 2005, Bob came to the MusiCounts team with a proposal: that music education should not only be supported but also celebrated. Thus the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award was created. Through award sponsorship by internationally-renowned artists such as the Rolling Stones, Rush, and Michael Buble, the award program has elevated MusiCounts’ status within the music industry, while bringing attention to the heroes of music education.

As President of the Ezrin Company, Jan Ezrin manages the company's production efforts in Canada in music and television. A true partnership, working hand in hand in business, in philanthropy, and in life. The Ezrins are also founding donors of the MusiCounts Leadership Circle.

"We are truly honoured to receive this award, but we do so on behalf of all the MusiCounts ambassadors who have worked so hard to grow this amazing initiative over its 20-year history," said Jan Ezrin. "All of us share the belief that music should be a fundamental part of every child's education, which is why it is so important to support MusiCounts in its efforts to make music accessible to all children through their schools and community centres, no matter what their circumstances are. And so all of us share in this award."
